Breast Cancer Awareness.
Jumping ahead in the blog a bit, but I thought this picture both interesting and worthy of the leap. On Yonge Street, in the centre of Toronto, we were more than a little surprised to walk past a pre-mix cement lorry painted pink. I grabbed my camera to catch a picture just as the lights changed and it moved off to disappear forever, but we must have caught the driver’s attention because he looked over, smiled at us and stopped in the middle of the street!
Good on you Pierre Trembacz, many thanks, and hopefully in publishing this picture I am doing my little bit to raise breast cancer awareness.
Incidentally, this is a fully working construction rig, and not just a publicity campaign

Building a Concrete Cure: St Mary's CBM Launches
Pink Ready-Mix Truck to Support Breast Cancer Research
Toronto, ON, September 29, 2008 – A dynamic new tool in the fight against breast cancer hit Ontario’s roads today. St Mary's CBM, a recognized leader in manufacturing construction products, today launched the first ever pink ready-mix truck in Canada in partnership with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The standard grey ready-mix truck received a pink paint job to signify respect and admiration for those affected by breast cancer and to provide a visual reminder to customers who order concrete from the Pink-Truck.
